WHAT KIND OF INVESTIGATIONS DO YOU OFFER? We do all types of investigations, divorce/cheaters, child custody, surveillance, missing persons, fraud and provide background checks. CSI Investigations will be glad to talk with you concerning your needs and provide you with the best opportunity to obtain the evidence that you need.
IS SURVEILLANCE LEGAL? YES, As long as we stay within the law while conducting our surveillance (i.e. not trespassing, etc.), it is legal to conduct a surveillance upon a person for legitimate purposes by a licensed investigator. You must hire a licensed investigator to carry out assignments. CSI-Tennessee maintains TN state license #1407. If you are not licensed, it could be considered stalking and/or harassment.
HOW MUCH NOTICE DO YOU NEED BEFORE YOU CAN WORK ON MY CASE? A 24-hr notice is usually plenty of time. It's often possible to start a case immediately. Weekends are the busiest times and may require additional advance notice. We first need to gather all the facts, authorization forms, and retainer before we can start the investigation.
IS MY INFORMATION KEPT SECRET? Yes, any information submitted to us verbally or via on-line is kept secret and confidential. Only the client (you) and the investigative agency can have access to or, knowledge of the case details.
DO YOU NEED TO MEET WITH THE INVESTIGATOR? No, not unless you want to. Much of what we do can be done quickly and with a minimal amount of inconvenience and the formality of a meeting is usually not necessary.
HOW IS THE SURVEILLANCE STRATEGY PLAN ESTABLISHED? We rely on you to assist us in developing the surveillance plan. The better the information supplied to us the more likely it is to be productive and more cost effective for you.
WILL THE PERSON(s) UNDER INVESTIGATION FIND OUT THAT THEY ARE BEING WATCHED? Our surveillance investigations are 100% confidential. We do everything necessary to insure the covert nature of the investigation. If we ever perceive that the security of the investigation is threatened, we back off and re-evaluate with your input. One important point: Never threaten to hire an investigator! This will make the suspected subject even more difficult to watch. If you have done this, be sure to tell us ahead of time so we can prepare.
HOW MANY INVESTIGATORS ARE UTILIZED ON A SURVEILLANCE CASE? The number of investigators used depends on a number of factors. Basic surveillance on an individual being followed from home or an uncomplicated work situation can be conducted by one agent. More complicated scenarios, such as following someone in high traffic situations, from a congested office building, the airport or busy hotel require an additional agent. Of course an additional agent increases the cost of surveillance, and this factor is also taken into consideration in arriving at your budget. Please note the more investigators the more likely to yield better results.
WHAT DO I DO ONCE SURVEILLANCE IS SET UP? Once the surveillance plan is in place it is important that you do not do anything to alert the subject of the investigation. Do not change your habits and do not ask too many questions about their activities.
WHAT TYPE OF INFORMATION WILL I RECEIVE AT THE CONCLUSION OF MY INVESTIGATION? All surveillance is documented with still photographs and/or videotape of the activities to verify our findings. We will also provide a written surveillance report which details all the activity in writing upon request or when deemed necessary for your case. Both are submitted to you, your attorney or if you wish we can maintain them for you. Your video can be delivered via CD-ROM, or DVD. Copies of data pulled will be provided to you or your attorney with regard to privacy laws.
WILL YOU TESTIFY IN COURT? We work every case under the notion that it will end up in court. Providing testimony in court about the facts obtained is never a problem. We do charge for court.
WHAT ARE THE FEES CHARGED FOR INVESTIGATION/SURVEILLANCE? Both Investigations and Surveillance are billed on an hourly basis plus associated charges. We do have a two hour minimum surveillance charge. We do require payment in advance of the work being conducted. Payment can be made by PayPal, credit card, cash, check or money order. If finances are an objective we can work the investigation according to your budget.
